Hey Reader, If you want to pack light and feel confident with that packing list, you will need to pack fewer but better things. Fewer but better things. Better can be:
When you have fewer but better things in your bag, you will feel like your options are abundant even when you travel with luggage the size of a handbag or personal item. (And an abundant mindset is really everything.) 🙋♀️ But does that mean I have to buy a bunch of new things in order to pack light and feel confident? Not necessarily. The beautiful thing about this fewer but better concept is that simply taking the time to evaluate everything you're packing is going to help.
Each question is getting you closer to your light packing goal - and that is a win right then and there! Another Benefit of Fewer But BetterWhen you pack fewer things, you not only get better value out of those items... You also get better at using those items. You might even get more creative! I was recently back on The Roamies podcast chatting with Alexa about her light packing progress. You can have a listen here. She mentioned something that I wanted to point out: As a traveling musician, she used to travel with several instruments. However, she recently decided to only travel with her ukulele to simplify the packing process, and that in turn made her get better at playing the ukulele! By focusing her efforts on fewer instruments, she was not only able to pack smarter but she was also able to get better at the one. What a great outcome 😎 Fewer but better. Less but better. This is a concept that will help us in many areas of our lives... especially in our packing. Happy packing, Brooke P.S. Hey Reader, Happy May! I hope you are getting ready to head off on new adventures whether those be from maximizing a long weekend or relaxing overseas for a week. (And if you are traveling in the U.S., don't forget that Southwest's new luggage policy takes effect on May 28th, and you may need to focus on carry-on only in order to get free luggage. Need a hand with that? Try this.) It's my birthday month, so I always have a soft spot for this time of year. It doesn't hurt getting some fun...
